First edition KLM Curacao Marathon

At the end of November, a group of sports enthusiasts will travel to Curacao for the first edition of the KLM Curacao Marathon. On November 30, 2014, this event will be held in WIllemstad. The entire weekend of 29 and 30 November will be dedicated to running and walking. The distances that can be run are: the full marathon, half marathon, duo marathon, 10 kilometers, five kilometers and Trail.

Route Curacao Marathon

The start and finish of the marathon is at the Lions Dive & Beach Resort. This resort is also the host of the Amstel Curacao Race. This is a beautiful setting for this sporting event. Because of the warm weather, the marathon starts at 4:30 in the night. The other start times are set so that everyone will cross the finish line at the same time. After leaving the Lions Dive & Beach resort, the runners go along the coast, through Willemstad, across the pontoon bridge and finally back across the Juliana bridge.
