San Juan Curacao
Rocks, coral and raging waves give this trio of secluded beaches a particularly rugged atmosphere; a favorite with divers. Pay your entrance fee at Landhouse San Juan and follow the stone markers that lead to the beach of your choice. For calm waters, go to Playa Shon Mosa ("young woman"); Playa Mansaliña offers barely any shade and the seabed is coral; Playa Largu has a long, rocky coastline and high waves. The roads are bumpy, but take you past some charming scrub forests, and on the way back you have a nice view of the rugged Curaçao nature.
